Understanding Mental Health course

This is a flexible one-day course that looks at key issues in mental health, how they can impact an individuals’ life and the importance of support with supportive techniques and enhancing recovery.

The flexibility with this course is the option for organisations to choose the topics that will be of most benefit to the service. The core topics are Stress, Anxiety, Depression and Psychosis, Terminology, Support and Recovery with the option to add or replace with other topics such as Personality disorders or Self-harm.


About mental health

This course was created for organisations to get the most information about common mental health issues in the shortest time. The course has been rolled-out throughout the 111 NHS service in Ashford and Ipswich as well as local authorities, charities and community groups.


The understanding mental health course structure

This one-day course consists of a mixture of small group work, videos, discussions and reflective practice to highlight the key aims of the course.

The course times are 9.30-4.00 with a maximum of 18 people per course.
